CALA LUNA BEACH

Cala Luna is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean and Sardinia for its complete scenery and the color of its waters, with the unique blue of the Gulf of Orosei. The 800-meter long beach is framed by Punta "Su Masongiu" to the south and the five caves at the northern end, which offer shelter and shade during the hottest hours. The seabed of Cala Luna slopes gently for the first 5 meters from the shoreline and then quickly becomes deeper. The beach is composed mainly of white sand and the calcareous gravel typical of the Gulf of Orosei. Cala Luna is A surprise every year for the loyal visitors who return to bathe in its waters, as the shape of the beach changes every winter depending on the rainfall, which swells the stream, and the storm surges, which regenerate the strip of sand.

CALA SISINE BEACH

After Cala Luna, Cala Sisine beach opens up between two rocky ridges and adorned by a centuries-old forest of holm oaks. It consists of small pebbles smoothed by the action of the sea. The triangular shape of the beach, surrounded by cliffs and rugged gorges, gives the environment a particular and unique appearance. The beach can also be reached on foot via a path that we recommend accompanied by trained guides. As with Cala Luna, it is There is a restaurant located on the inner part of the beach, nestled in the woods.

CALA BIRIOLA

Another wonder of the Gulf, it too will amaze you. Emerald water, a perfect mix of blue, cobalt, and turquoise reflections, overlooked by a sandstone ridge and a woodland overlooked by sheer holm oaks and juniper trees, and where you can still see the ancient charcoal burners' paths.

PISCINE DI VENERE AND GROTTA DEL FICO

Another pearl of the Gulf of Orosei is undoubtedly the Piscine di Venere. Sailing south between the towering cliffs between Cala Sisine and Cala Biriola, you'll find this tiny strip of pure white sand, which, depending on the winter storms and the strong underwater currents in the area, widens or almost disappears completely. This small corner enchants with its clear water, and its seabed will be appreciated by snorkeling enthusiasts. A dive from the dinghy is a must! The Fico Cave is a coastal cave located in the municipality of Baunei between the beaches of Cala Mariolu and Cala Biriola, open to guided tours since 2003. The presence of stalactites, stalagmites, and columns, of vastly different sizes and colors, allow you to enjoy an incomparable spectacle, enhanced by the play of light and transparency created along its internal passages. Made up of two distinct tunnels and connected to the open sea by a long siphon, the cave can be accessed via several walkways that run along the fossil bed of the ancient underground river whose waters, over the millennia, created the cave itself.

CALA MARIOLU

The colors of the sea and the clarity of these waters are unparalleled in the Gulf. A blue hue reminiscent of the bottom of a swimming pool, framed by white sand mixed with pebbles rounded by time. This cove is completely immersed in the typical, fragrant, and verdant Mediterranean scrub. Various species of seabirds nest on the high rocks overlooking it, including a large number of seagulls and some specimens of peregrine falcon and golden eagle. The beach's name is linked to the monk seal: the now extinct mammal preyed on the nets of Ponza fishermen who had settled in Cala Gonone, and was called a MARIUOLO, or thief, by them.

CALA DEI GABBIANI

It is located in the Punta Ispuligi area. It is a larger section of the nearby Cala Mariolu and features a highly scenic landscape of rocky walls dotted with green vegetation and a clear blue seabed. Due to the presence of the wall, this beach, like Cala Mariolu, is only accessible by sea.

CALA GOLORITZE

Declared a "Natural Monument" by the Sardinia Region in 1993, and then named an "Italian National Monument" in 1995 for its beauty and environmental integrity. The beach is famous for its splendid limestone arch overlooking the sea and the presence of the Guglia, a limestone monolith approximately 140 meters high that overlooks the small bay. The crystal-clear seabed is about 30 meters deep and deceives first-time visitors. The unique beach is made up of a myriad of tiny white pebbles. The water is cooler than other areas of the gulf due to numerous icy currents coming from inland. The coast near the beach is completely closed to traffic by a fence of buoys, in order to preserve its integrity and prevent wild assaults by visitors.
