THE BEACH OF CALA LUNA

Cala Luna is considered one of the most beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean and Sardinia for the completeness of its scenery and the coloring of its waters, with the unique blue of the Gulf of Orosei. Frame the long beach of 800 meters Punta "Su Masongiu" to the south and the five caves in the north end, that offer shelter and shade during the hottest hours. The bottom of Cala Luna slopes gently for the first 5 meters from the shore and then quickly become deeper. The beach consists mainly of white sand and limestone grit typical of the Gulf of Orosei. Cala Luna is a surprise every year for the loyal who return to bathe in its waters, as the shape of the beach changes every winter depending on the rains, which swell the creek, and the storms, which regenerate the tongue of sand.

THE BEACH OF CALA SISINE

After Cala Luna, the beach of Cala Sisine, composed of small pebbles smoothed by the action of the sea, opens between two rocky ridges and adorned by a centuries-old holm oak wood. The triangle shape of the beach surrounded by cliffs and rugged gorges gives the environment a special and unique. The beach is also accessible on foot through a path that we recommend to make with the accompaniment of trained guides. As for Cala Luna, there is a catering service located in the inner part of the beach and surrounded by woods.

CALA BIRIOLA

Another wonder of the Gulf, also will surprise you. Emerald water, a perfect mix of blue, cobalt and turquoise reflections dominated by a ridge of sandstone and a forest from which overlook holm oaks and junipers, and where you can still see the ancient paths of charcoal burners.

VENUS POOLS AND FIG CAVE

Another pearl of the Gulf of Orosei are certainly the Pools of Venus. Sailing south between the high cliffs between Cala Sisine and Cala Biriola is this tiny strip of white sand that depending on the winter storms and the strong submarine currents of the area widens or disappears almost completely. This small corner enchants for the transparency of the water and its depths will be appreciated by snorkelers. A dive from the raft is mandatory! The Grotta del Fico is a coastal cave located in the municipality of Baunei between the beaches of Cala Mariolu and Cala Biriola open to guided tours since 2003. The presence of stalactites, stalagmites and columns, of different sizes and colors, allow you to enjoy an incomparable show, enhanced by the play of lights and transparencies created in its internal paths. Formed by two distinct galleries and connected by a long siphon with the open sea, the cave is passable through some walkways, which line the fossil bed of the ancient underground river whose waters have, over the millennia, generated the cave itself

CALA MARIOLU

The colors of the sea and the clarity of these waters have no equal in the Gulf. A blue shade that recalls the bottom of a pool framed by a white sand mixed with pebbles rounded by time.Questa creek is completely immersed in the green of the typical, fragrant and green Mediterranean. Various species of seabirds nest on the high rocks above it, including a large number of seagulls and some specimens of peregrine falcon and golden eagle. The name of the beach is linked to the monk seal: the mammal now extinct predate the nets of Ponza fishermen who had settled in Cala Gonone, and that they were defined as a MARIUOLO, a thief.

CALA DEI GABBIANI

It is located in Punta Ispuligi. It is a larger section of the nearby Cala Mariolu and has a landscape of high scenic impact made of rocky walls dotted with green vegetation and a blue and transparent backdrop. Due to the presence of the wall, this beach like Cala Mariolu can only be reached by sea.

CALA GOLORITZE

Declared "Natural Monument" of the Sardinia Region in 1993, and then named "Italian National Monument" in 1995 for its beauty and environmental integrity. The beach is famous for the beautiful limestone arch on the sea and the presence of the Spire, a limestone monolith about 140 meters high that overlooks the small bay. The transparent bottom is about 30 meters deep and deceives those who visit the cove for the first time. The beach, unique in its kind, is formed by a myriad of tiny white pebbles. The water has a lower temperature than other parts of the gulf, due to numerous icy water streams from inland. The coast near the beach is completely closed to traffic by a fence of buoys, in order to preserve its integrity and avoid a wild assault by visitors.
