Discover the most authentic side of Barbagia on an off-road adventure combining culture, nature, and traditional shepherd life.
Spend a full day exploring Orgosolo, its world-famous murals, and the spectacular landscapes of the Supramonte, accompanied by expert local guides and an authentic lunch prepared by local shepherds.
What We Will Do
Departure is scheduled at 09:00 AM from Oliena aboard comfortable off-road vehicles.
Our first stop will be the charming village of Orgosolo, renowned worldwide for its murals, powerful artworks that tell the story, culture, and social struggles of Sardinia.
After visiting the historic center, we will continue through valleys, plateaus, and unspoiled landscapes where it is possible to observe free-ranging livestock grazing in the wild.
We will reach the beautiful Montes Forest, one of the largest and most fascinating holm oak forests in Sardinia, before continuing towards Funta Bona and the impressive Monte Novo San Giovanni.
This spectacular limestone plateau rises to 1,316 meters above sea level and offers breathtaking panoramic views over the Supramonte and the peaks of the Gennargentu mountain range.
We will then continue to Su Vadu e S'Eni, where you will have the opportunity to visit the traditional pinnettos, ancient shepherds' huts nestled in the heart of nature.
Here, a generous traditional lunch prepared according to authentic Barbagian recipes awaits us, served in the shade of the majestic holm oak trees of the Supramonte.
In the afternoon, we will return to Oliena while enjoying once more the stunning landscapes of Barbagia.
