Imagine walking through silent forests and limestone mountains shaped by time, following ancient paths traced over two centuries ago by charcoal burners. In the most remote heart of Supramonte lies one of Sardinia’s most mysterious places: the Nuragic village of Tiscali.
Here, over 500 meters above sea level, the roof of a massive cave collapsed thousands of years ago, creating a hidden sinkhole invisible from the outside. Inside this natural refuge, Nuragic people built a protected village perfectly integrated with its surroundings.
We’ll hike through the Lanaitho Valley across dense forests and towering rock walls, pass the narrow Sa Curtigia gorge and reach spectacular panoramic viewpoints. Finally, we’ll enter the Tiscali sinkhole to explore the archaeological site and a surprising natural botanical garden grown thanks to a unique microclimate.
